weformlikevoltron found this mix featuring Japanese pop funk / boogie from the 80s. Interesting in itself (and very, very 80s) - would recommend to continue listening if you are not convinced by the first track as there are different styles beyond it.

i’ve been following this guy DJ Notoya on instagram for a minute and he has a pretty great cratedigging taste in the whole breaks, funk, soul area. This is a mix from him with a bunch of japanese boogie, R&B and funk cuts from the 1980’s. Enjoy.
